Your AVI's simply have internal problems. First thing is to check them with DivFix and DivXRepair.

Hello friend.
The problem is not the AVI file. I'd tested with various files. In TheFilmMachine 1.1 , this error not ocurrs.
It's a problem probally with parameters send to avisynth or something like that .
The changes made in version 1.2 did not concern Avisynth. Changes concerning Avisynth where only from version 1.0 to 1.1. So there should be no difference.Like Chickenman said an Avisynth error at some point only occurs if there are bad frames in the AVI-file. If the first part of the encoded movie is good than there is nothing wrong with my program or avisynth. Maybe codecs!!!

Maybe is possible The Mask. I will test and send another message to you, ok ?

Thanks for the response. I have checked my AVI and found it had loads of errors in it. I have fixed it (i Hope) but need to clear some disk space as virtualdub keeps falling over (no room). I will have to make my linux partition a lot smaller (OK as I am still trying to get to grips with it.)
