      could not find encoding window??

      Hey

I am a newbie at all this and i've just downloaded the 1.2 version. Which by the way, is very easy to use..
But the problem is, that I get (I think) an errror message while cinema crat encoder is running.. I get this:

      - 20-08-2004 09:35:36
      - Free on drive C: 11,70 GB
      - Video Encoding using Cinema Craft Encoder SP 2.67
      --------------------------------------------------------
      Executing Cinema Craft Encoder.

      TFM_Project_File.ecl found
      TFM_Project_File.ecl encoding started at 09:36:22
      Creating TFM_Video_Info_File.vaf
      Creating TFM_Enc_Video.mpv
Could not find second encoding window, checking again...
Still could not find second encoding window, checking again...

The encoder is still running, but last night when I tried to encode the same movie, I didn't get the different parts. I just got one big file..

      What am I doing wrong?

Did you minimize the CCE Encoding window by any chance?

Please email the following files, so I can check it out:
      • TFM_Avi_Info.log
      • TFM.log
      • TFM_Avisynth_Script_File.avs
      Thanks

I have the exact same problem.

I didnt minimise any windows. None popped up to be honest.

      Any Ideas yet?

I still think this Is a great program.

      Cheers

Normally TFM waits an amount of seconds for the first and second encoding window to pop up. For the first it waits for 10 sec at first and if it does not find a window it waits another 100 sec. For the second window it also first waits 10 sec for the second window to pop up and if no result another 200 sec. This should be enough. So maybe you have to many programs running in the background or your computer does not react quick enough.

For version 1.3 I have made it 400 sec for the second encoding window.

Question Can't find second encoding window

      hi

I'm another noob to dvd authoring, and I'm having the same problem regarding the second encoding window, but I'm running XP SP1, with TFM 1.3. (Ive tried TFM 1.2 with the same result). The irritating thing is I managed to burn a DVD but the picture was very erratic, but I can't reproduce those results now.

In addition, if I run TFM as a user without admin rights, whenever I try to perform any action with the prog I get a pop-up which says 'Error: value not created'

I have included the log file for the last pass of the prog, any help or suggestions would be appreciated

      thanks

It seems that the problems start with the audio conversion. There is nothing in the log file so something went wrong there. Maybe you can post (if it excists) the file TFM_Encoded_Audio.log.

About the second encoding window, try using version 2.67 of CCE. In this version CCE won't change encoding windows, it uses the first window.

About admin rights, you should have them because my programs writes and reads from the registry.

      Hi mask

thanks for your quick response. I had a go this morning with different versions of CCE (2.67 and 2.62 I think) and TFM didnt see the first encoding window, so I went back to version 2.5 after clearing my HD of data and defragging it, and had some success with a 1MB test avi - the burn stage failed because I had forgotten I was erasing a RW - doh! Anyways I am currently trying a 2 x 700MB avi and I'm at the 'Creating TFM_Enc_Video.mpv' stage and all seems OK. I will post the results when it has finished tomorrow.

Regarding admin rights, I can get TFM going using the 'Run as...' command from the desktop right click popup and selecting an admin account, so its no prob really.

thanks again for taking the time to respond and congrats on creating a nice little prog - I hope I've got it running right now!

      cheers

      Hi mask

THe test didn't work again, and I'm back to not finding the second encoding window, can you advise what version of CCE you are using, and maybe the link to where I can get it?

I have included the log file 'TFM_Encoded_Audio.log'

I am not sure my program can handle an Avi with Mjpeg codec.

It seems that there is something wrong with the audio conversion and your Avi is too short.

Use an Avi of 1 minute minimum and try again.

Hi mask, tried with a 1.25 minute avi but failed. I have removed all codecs and uninstalled TFM, then downloaded the newest codecs (from cucusoft website), got CCE2.6.7 and reinstalled TFM to try again. This time I tried with 2x700MB Xvid files and failed - there was a popup complaining of the wrong resolution size (?) and TFM couldn't find the first encoding window. What else can you suggest.

      thanks

Somebody else had this same error to with CCE. I don't know where it comes from. I have never had this. Maybe you have installed a bad version of CCE.
