      Question encoding quality

      if i encode the xvid movie to dvd with CCE can you still losse quality
      what i mean there is no compression on the file (i think)
      but when i play the xvid trough the pc with tv out its pretty sharp
      but when its encoded and i play it on my dvd stand alone player
      i can see those anoying blocks in fast parts of the movie
      does it realy matter to do more dan 1 or 2 passes with CCE
      what i think is not (correct me if i am wrong here) because the movie won't have to be compressed

      btw 1 of the best programs for this (only 1 i can work with )

      keep up the good work

      it doesn't matter if the file size is equal or smaller; you will lose quality because changing the codec principle (type);

      inspect your DVD player quality by playing back the CCE encoded MPEG2 file at your PC via TV out;

      You loose quality because the encoded bitrate is depending on the available space on DVD/CD and the movielength. So If you have a long movie the bitrate is lower and therefore the quality is less. If you have a short movie the bitrate is higher and therefore the quality is higher. So the mpeg quality is almost everytime less than the original AVI.

      About het passes in CCE I can say that the difference between 2 and 4 passes is minimum, but it could be that the quality of fast parts is a little better. You have to test it.
