      Korean's in World Cups semifinals!!!

I'm Korean and just wanted to announce that the Koreans are going to the semifinals.
Some might not like the fact that Koreans are going but I'm very proud of my country.
The first Asian country ever to make it into semifinal.

      Wink

With a little help from the officials!
Still, they deserve a lot of credit for their never say die attitude and their attacking mentality.
      Well done and good luck!

Joripe this time you are wrong !!

Germany (Franz Beckenbauer) did a lot for the last Blatter reelection...there has to be a little Thank You for us.

The worst he could do for us is this italien skinhead referee (Colina ??).
We always lost when we got him

I don't like koreans much lol (have a few korean friends, so don't take it personally *inside joke), but they played well & all due to the coach =).
I don't think they will fair so well against Germany, but you never know.

Damn, why is everybody so upset against arbitrage in this World Cup. There were always mistakes made in recent Euro and World Cups and never al this controversy. Maybe because the so called "great football nations" were kicked out? And when this was the other way, and the little ones were kicked out because of same mistakes. Yep, lets face it, Football is a game of emotions and without this mistakes football wouldn't be anything. Decisions are made in fractions of seconds and you can make mistakes. If they don't want this to happen, put electronic technology in the game, but be aware, the game will be killed.

Corea didn't play as well as they played against, Poland and Italy, but they fought most of the time and had the luck on their side. If Spain was robbed from a Goal and they consider they were superior than Corea why didn't they score other goals? I can't see any foul or anything in the first one, but the linesman had the flag way some time up before they scored, so I can live with it. The Second one didn't go out, but I believe he couldn't see the ball and played for sure and stopped the play. The off-sides, I have seen worse things declared off-sides and those ones were on line, so some mistakes can be made.

Corea is not a great football nation, but at least they fight during the game something the great ones didn't do. I'm happy they are there and at the same time sad, because as i mentioned, i expected a Brazil - Spain final. Now Brazil has to play Turkey, again, and I hope this time they do the job they didn't in the first round (I expect them to score at least 3 against Turkey).

South Corea - Germany, two nations that don't play good football, but fight from the begining to the end of the match. I really believe, but don't take this for sure, Germany will defeat Corea, because of their physic. Corea has big problems with air balls on their area and Germany can use this in their favour.

Oh, I almost forgot, Brazil deserved to win, because England didn't play as I expected and that red for Ronaldinho was a big mistake, but that's football.

Cheers Guys and lets wait and see how this WC ends,

Great thought... if everyone was thinking like that about soccer, then parcheesi would be the most popular sport- by far. Spain was robbed two perfectly legal goals, plain and simple.......
I'm beeing realistic Poko. I'm sure you remember better than me the "ilegal" goal England scored against Germany in 1966. It's the same tipe of mistake, the ball wasn't over the line in the Goal. But it was England playing home so, you understand what I mean. The Lines man did the same today, saved the home team, because he wasn't sure. If you can tell me what's the diference between this two cases I will accept your comment I quoted.

Blatter was trying to set the most convenient opponent for his pal, Franz Beckenbauer (and suceeded... or not? Germany is playing so badly that I'm not sure, they should be out and the USA woodchoppers on final four). Master projected above another variation of the same scenario.

Again, I don't agree. If it was so, he wouldn't have acted like an A*****E comming into public criticizing the referees and specially the lines-man. The problem is another one in my opinion. Most of the referees (that don't act in Europe or South America) have little experience and apart of that they put for example: a Brazilian, a Tunisian, a Chineeseand and a Scotish as fourth referee in a world cup match. I think if you call a referee from what country he may be, let him decide who will be his linesmen. What I mean is do it like it is done in the Champions League. All four of them are from the same country and they know each other. THe mistakes commited in those maches are statistically lower than in the WC.

About any one of them beeing no real rival for Brazil, I agree. But, just remember 82, Italy was the worst team in that tourament, but with some luck (Paolo Rossi, if you remember you never heard of him again) they became champions. Al Champions are made of a little bit of luck (look at France in 98, they won because Ronaldo "didn't" play, if he was in top form as he is now, the story would have been another one. Same goes in 2000, Abel Xavier felt with his hand in the wrong place (that was a ball in the hand and not a hand on the ball). Even my Holland in 88 had that bit of luck when Kieft (if remember it was him) scored against Ireland in the last minute to make it to the second round and after that show really good football.

That's why I don't give Brazil as champion yet, because every match is another story.

      Cheers,

    12. I'll admit that some calls from the ref these years been questionable.
World -cups in the past had questionable calls also.
But I got to say that I really believe the Koreans earned all their Wins this year.

And what are home field advantage for?
I am a big fan of soccer period and they all played well and I'm congratulating Korea because they earned it.

      Right Yoyo,

The Coreans didn't put eleven butts on their area to defend the whole game. I can't say the same thing for example Italy, wich plays 90% of the time on their area.

Congratulations again, and believe me, in all WC there were more or equal mistakes as in this one. Only problem is that the "great teams" felt off early.

I hope Corea reaches the Final against Brazil. It could be an interesting match. The experience against the willing to win.

      Cheers,
