Hi Bud,I copied this for speed sake.
the best way is:
-General tab> compression method :best
-Create solid archive (checkmarked) *this allows for better compression
-volume size (this is done in bytes). with this best way is to figure out the size of the file/app you want to compress (by right clicking the folder it is in or whatever method & click on properties & it will show you the size in bytes also (the longer numbe)). Divide that to fit to around 15MB.

So if you want 14megs.Just enter 14,000,000 in the volume size entry window. That will be close enough.

Yeah I figured it in the end
thanks m8
i think the right one but still a youngster in these parts
let me take a stab at it
right click the file you want to archive and click on add to archive
the first screen is general
lower left hand corner type in the size of the file you want it to split to--it is in bytes so (check my math) i am thinking type in 14000000 and that should split out multiple files each of ~14mb with the exception of the last one--it will be whatever is reamaining
have split smaller files up in to pieces this way
any problems post-we will try and figure it out
sorry i was too late![]()
