      AVAST - Miserable test results

I don't use it but noticed what looks like a valid test
      at the Technodrome.
Out of 20+ AV progs, it came in next to last.

Must say I'm glad I changed to F-Secure too. Avast was OK for me but F-Secure is the thinghy's wotsits IMO.

Some of the definition updates seem to take forever, but hey ya know it's doing the job!

I installed Avast and I liked it.
Unfortunately Nero went belly up on me and gave me a coaster fest! (normally I dont have any problems with it).
Once I removed it (Avast) from my system everything was A OK.
Maybe it was Neros fault for being fickle, but I need Nero more than I need Avast. (at least for now).

Not used Avast, but I did have problems playing games based on the Quake 3 Engine after using F-secure, anyone else have this problem? game would freeze pc after start console had finished going through its start up routine..

im on a PIII 900 w/f-secure. i've heard all kind of horror stories w/AV softwares...i haven't experienced any. people complain bout norton being a memory hog. i think it uses less resources than f-secure. f-secure has like 10 processes going on when i look at the task manager. f-prot is the least resource consuming that i know so far. nod32 seems to be much smaller though. i like f-secure though. just plain simple! i just dl the updates via ftp & update the database. no scan..nothing..& not even one virus. no antivirus prog has ever slowed down my comp. maybe my comp is just well built

Glad I didn't switch from AVG to Avast - not the first Nero trouble report, IIRC.

Yeah! AVG scored pretty lousy too - so I might chuck the promo version of COMMAND on (mag offer, 1 year free from some months back!)

      Or go for F-secure

If you use a cracked, keygened or keyshared AV - how safe are you REALLY?
