I use a combo of Popup-Stopper Pro and Adwatch from Adaware. Catches most of 'em.

The easiest way to prevent pop ups is to disable all 3 scripting options! find them in IE here: Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom Level, then scroll down to the 3 scripting options and set them to disabled! No need for third party software. If a site you visit has to have scripting enabled, just enable the first one and reload that page, otherwise leave them all set to disabled. Simple as that! No pop ups, no pop unders!

Meaya is the only one that has stopped all pop ups for me. Number 1.

Something that must be said here....

although ***** and X-10 popups are not welcome, some small and/or freeware sites need these "advertising" monies that are generated from popups to survive. Kill too many popups and you kill a website. It has happened before and will continue to happen if peeps are not conscientious.

So be careful when you use these popup killers guys. Don't leave them on 24/7. Killing freeware/open source proggies and/or information sites is a bad thing!

I have NOT used any popup killer for months- since I began using Firebird 0.6+ as browser (0.5 was too buggy for its own good).
The reason is very simple: there is no such thing as popups in Firebird... the control over them is absolute- in fact at some sites you have to enable them manually.

Selectively stop pop-ups, allowing certains sites to stay alive like dx mentioned. Try the free Kana PopCloser

      MYie2

MYie2 is by far the best in IMHO, it stops all popups and yet if you need to enable them there is a little tag in the bottom right of the browser just click it and you have enabled popups, it is also sooo configurable that everyone can customise it to there own taste, i have been useing this browser since it was recomended on here about 18 months ago and i will never go back to IE.
it runs off some of IE's components but dont let that put you off, it is quick around the net and sooo easy to use, there are also loads of skins for it if that takes your fancy.
yep im a die hard MYie2 fan lol.
