I have taken 8 different comp from win 98 and ME to win xp (5 home 3 pro) almost all had no problems
1 had problem with ATI pci video board and ATI had no plans for XP drivers (this was a fairly new board with tv out). 2 with generic modems XP had no drivers for these and after searching net forced a driver to get one to work other just replaced. had problems with asus board and memory going from ME to XP, see my other posts were people here helped me.
We have net worked 10 comp together and XP works great also talks to two ME machines.
I also let machine boot drives at fat 32 so I can still use ME startup disks to correct problems I dont like th XP repair option you need to use if you format to fat nt.
many thanx red123 and hockeyman for your time. its nice to no you are not alone.
