well because outlook is a stupid email client. By now am sure you are well aware of the thousands of countless bugs in MSN products.

My suggestion, use PocoMail or The Bat! as email clients.
Both work well and keep things simpler.

From experience there are 2 possible password requests.

      1. The password you need to connect to your ISP

      2. The password you assigned yourself to access your mail.

check to see you have the right one in the right place.

If no joy, delete your account [under manage identities] and then re-activate[same e-mail i.d etc]
On the side of the box it said "Install Windows XP or better" so I installed LINUX

I still think the best solution is not to use MSN outlook (or outlook express).
Full of too many bugs & security holes & doesn't work as well as other email clients.

Still good job in finding a solution for yourself Des.
