      Question About XP and ASPI

OK hears the deal i have 3 computers set up All running XP and all have cd burners. now XP seems to run really good on these computers and the burners worked perfectly without ASPI Installed. Some of the software i have requires me to run or have aspi installed or it doesnt work this is where the problems start after installing ASPI I start noticing little problems here and there Like after having a cd in the drive while in my computer the icon in my computer shows what the CD is but then eject and insert anouther cd it still says what the first is untill you reboot then it will change to what it actually is have tried all the different versions of ASPI. so i was wondering if there was a way to fool the programs into thinking ASPI was installed. All 3 cvomputers exhibit problems after installing ASPI I am also not having any problems burning

what kind of burning tool do you use ?
because sometimes ASPI doesn't work fine with all burning programs

      Force ASPI

yes i used it and when i run aspi check it says aspi is installed properly and i have tried all the different versions of aspi and cleaned the registry and wiped the aspi layer. i just think it is strange that every thing works fine until i install ASPI Layer and then these little bugs start showing upI gues i should just put up with them and see what happens.

      Burning Programs

OK what I do Is spred them out some burning programs conflict with other programs I have all the popular Programs Like ccd,alcohol120%, nero, win on cd, blind write, discjuggler etc...
but i donot have all of them installed on same computer so i put a few on one and a few on the other two. but like i said they work perfectly untill i install any version of ASPI someone posted a while back about XP not needing aspi and just to copy and past the aspi32 file somewhere and you wouldnt have to install it with XP but do not remember where you are supposed to put it.

i agree with popiko most apps dont need aspi layer or have there own IMHO i would stick to aspi 4.60 if you are goint to install them at all later ones seem to have probs
