    1. Need help to unlock ability to edit registry

My work-provided laptop is set up so that when I am logged in as a network user (via Novell) I am blocked from running regedit to edit the registry. However, when I boot up off of the network, I log in using the windows login screen, and then I can run regedit and edit the registry.

The problem is that my network user profile doesn't show up in the registry when I have logged onto windows off of the network, so I can't edit my network user profile, which is what I have to do.

I'm guessing that somewhere in the registry there is a key I can edit when I'm logged in off of the network, which will unlock regedit for when I am on the network.

Anyone tell me how to go about this?

      Thanks

Sorry nolonemo, you cannot have access to your registry when logged on to the novell network unless the admin allows you. The problem is that when you log in, a profile created by Zenworks that is on the server not the workstation, executes and configures your computer to wahtever your network admin set it to; They do this to prevent users from doing things that they do not need to be doing while on the network. I guess they did that for security reasons or network usage.

I think there is away though, if you are allowed to edit your login script, but I am prolly wrong.

    3. Thanks, Dark H. A bunch of stuff is written to the computer when I log on to network, so I guess you're right.
