      How do I uninstall dirext9 Beta3 and restore version 8 in XP.

      Most games dont mind but Maxc Payne does and I love Max Payne!!!!

      I'm not sure but you could try just reinstalling directx 8.1

      You could try this ........ DIRECT X BUSTER it uninstalls any version of DIRECT X to allow reinstall of ANY DIRECT X !!!

      but and its a big BUT here this is to be used at your own risk it does work but we as a forum cannot be held responsible if it messes up you system !


      hopefully this will not happen but to make sure using XP make a backup RESTORE point before starting

      this is why its always best to make a ghost backup before playing with new direct x ver.

      Or better yet, just let someone else test it.

      Personally I would just back critical stuff up and do a clean install. Sometimes that is faster and causes less headaches.
