Windows Explorer 98SE

Just started having problems with (O.S. 98SE) Windows Explorer and My Computer. When I click on the View selection it will show Large and Small icons also the list icons in the content section of W.E. and M.C., but when I click on the Details selection the contents section goes blank. I have not knowingly changed any settings and have checked for viruses and trojans none reported, have also used Adaware. Would greatly appreciate any HELP

Did you find out what the problem was? was it adaware? I have same problem and don;t know how to fix it - can you advise?
