      Win ME and HP

My friend has an HP machine that came with windows me. I want to put windows 2000 on it, but the HP website says they do not support Windows 2000. They also have no drivers for Windows 2000 for the specified model (which i will post later because i have to call my friend). Will Windows 2000 find almost everything on my friends machine? He only has 128 mb of ram so i don't want to put xp unless he upgrades the ram. Will post model later, but i wanted to see if anyone else had this problem.

since most parts of the computer are not made by HP i would think that unless its an old machine there should be no problem with 2000......especially if it is possible to put XP on there since most drivers for either O/S r the same.....u can probly find the 200 drivers anyhow....u jus need to know the manufacturer of all devices that r installed and get the drivers from those websites

      HP and 2000

Thanks a lot for the help. I haven't decided what i am going to do, but i guess i'll put 2000 until he gets more ram.
