It would be safe to guess that about 98% of the Corporate CD images out there are Corpfiles conversions...because it is so easy to create.

I've seen some people claim that they have a true image of a Corporate CD. But it really doesn't matter, as there is no real difference between them...otherwise conversions would not install correctly. That is why Corpfiles has been so effective for so long.

be careful with those corporate versions though, the rumour is that M$ latest XP service pack has a built-in serial blacklist !

scavern is correct about M$ and its threat to check all Corporate keys against a database (all key in fact). But this has nothing to do with the Corporate conversion CD itself. It is just the key.

Although SP1 does not accept the most common pirated keys, it does not in itself have a built-in serial blacklister (a blacklist database with common blacklist keys, yes). SP1 is supposed to be more cooperative with Windows Product Activation version 5...which is due to be active by mid Oct.

WPA ver5 supposedly will check your key when you go to M$ Windows Update and if it is discovered that you have an illegal key, M$ disables your activation status and gives you a 3 day grace period to do something about it.

Supposedly if you have not installed SP1 it is far more difficult for M$ to disable your status. This nasty M$ feature is imbedded in SP1.

However, this is all speculative based on info from M$ and others. Once M$ implements WPA ver5...we will be able to confirm if this is true or a scare tactic from M$.

But then again if you don't go to M$ Windows Update...how are they going to catch you?!

you can browse the windows update site and download the updates for installation at a later time therefore missing out the online key check..also there are 'non-micro$haft'
sites that offer the updates for download shortly after they are posted on the windows update site
