The link staring at you from the top of the left pane?

If you're looking for binaries, they miss out one great freeware- http://bnr2.org/ - BNR2 is a binaries grabber, it is not a general purpose reader, and it has NO reply capability.

      For text, other choices are:
DIALOG - http://www.40tude.com/dialog/ - excellent thread scoring features, which can help to make troll-polluted groups a little more palatable, but stability with large binary groups is a problem.

Gravity - http://gravity.tbates.org/ - it used to be shareware from Microplanet, but when they ceased distribution, they released it as freeware - SuperGravity 2.6 is a fan-developed upgrade, and there is also a sourceforge development line, with a few components replaced as their licence was not compatible with open source.

Revived from obscurity - NFILTER ... not a newsreader, but a news proxy filter that can do some cleanups that many newsreaders ought to, but can't
      http://li.ve.ly/nfilter/
The additional config is tailored to the offensive troll problem in rec.photo.digital, but it can be tuned to filter out a variety of garbage.
Some better newsreaders may be able to apply similar filtering - NNTP Posting Host is a crucial one for dealing with much-abused proxies - especially those where the useless ISP never responds to complaints.
