Mac OS not as secure as many people think ?

Take a look over here:

http://secunia.com/advisory_statistics/

This shows stats about the security advisory for Mac OS X, and seems like there have been a bunch of problems within it.

Even more then within Microsoft Windows XP ...

So far

haaha

Windows XP (Pro):
http://secunia.com/product/22/
Secunia currently has 66 Secunia advisories affecting Microsoft Windows XP Professional.

Apple Mac OSX:
http://secunia.com/product/96/
Secunia currently has 36 Secunia advisories affecting Apple Macintosh OS X.

Windows is still the king of security failure...

Sad to say, but gone are the days when the MAC O.S. didn't garner the eye of hackers, crackers, etc. Oh well, OS X is a much better O.S. than it used to be... so I guess it a trade off.

I don't care what O.S. you are using though, there are always some holes. The trick is to stay ahead of the hackers. Billy Gates seems to be more serious about it now... guess we will see if WinXP SP2 does offer better security or no.

The biggest problem is the witdespread of ONE product. It is the same as in biology. If all the species are the same (clones, like latex tree), if a deseise hit one, every other is at risk... If there was more divercity, there would be less worms/virus/etc...
