Apple Authoring Support software is the driver software part to MacOS 9.x that would possibly add support for your cdr/dvd-r device.

I believe Apple licensed these drivers from Roxio, makers of Toast, and as a result you will see alot more third-party applications with burn support.

Also it should be noted that because Authoring Support is just the driver software. You will also need some burning software. This is Apple Disc Burner software and can be obtained free of charge from
