Ever since version 8.1, I have not been able to play encrypted DVDs.
When Xine is run in konsole, it reports that it can not decode with libdvdcss and can not open the device.
Does anyone have a way around this problem?

"Encrypted"- do you mean Macrovision?
Latest SuSE I've tried is 8.0 and had no problems to playback Macorvision protected DVD's. can't comment further, as I've switched to Mandrake and Knoppix (rather worse than SuSE both of them, but free).
