Being a microsoft person for a long time now, i thought it would be nice to try a new operating system. The trouble is, ive never used Linux before and wondered what version would suit me coming from XP Pro, IE..redhat etc. Any help would be usefull.

If you get a chance I would get Xandros....Desktop 1.0.
Very similar to mandrake but I think it is easier to configure.
On the side of the box it said "Install Windows XP or better" so I installed LINUX
Poko's right. Only it puzzles the **** out of me at present !

I like to try out Linux tooI saw SuSE Linux 8.1(1 CD version)...what's the different between SuSE Linux 8.1 and Mandrake 9(3 CD version)?
