With respect to Poko he makes it sound easy,if you under stand Linux it probably is,to an outright novice it ain't.

My option would be to partition the drive you have 98 0n and create a small (2Gb ?) partition to create an image of 'c' as back-up.

      Resize as Poko says.

I found with man9 I had no option but to let LILO handle the install. It rights itself into the mbr and so when I came to uninstall I was left with the Man 9 (LILO) boot screen.

The only way I could remove it was to format the mbr.

All the above was done on a spare 'box' until I get to understand Linux.

      I to am a novice..........but learning .................slowly
On the side of the box it said "Install Windows XP or better" so I installed LINUX

Pokopiko, don't wanna start an argument(apologies),first time I used a computer was 2 years ago using win98se,so Linux is a minefield to me.I'll always bow to experience, but I thought I was passing on a newbie's experience with mandrake to another. To the more seasoned user these comments may appear stupid, but we learn......slowly..........and your comments I have saved for reference to help me in my foray into Linux...Thank you.
