Question new to all this stuff...

hey all, i'm from Brisbane, Australia and have just bought a new pc and dvd burner. i have absolutely no idea what i'm doing. okay, so i have a little bit of an understanding already... what i really want to know is the best way to get around the dvd copy protection that seems to be on all of my original disks?

Welcome from anothert aussie (I'm beginning to think we are in the majority in this forum:-) . you just need to get DVDDecrypter from here <http://www.dvddecrypter.com/download.asp> read the faq's there and rip your dvd's to the hard drive then use a program like DVD shrink < http://www.dvdshrink.org/what.html> to transcode or copy the ripped dvd to a format ready to burn to a dvd disk. There are several excellent tutorials in this forum that have all the info you need, take your pick from this page <http://www.dvdrbase.com/forumdisplay.php?f=117> :-)

Welcome from another Aussie. As elsemay said, DVD Shrink is a good start (and its free as well ) So checkout the tutorial by Laz at http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=31155 , you really cant go wrong. Any problems, just ask in the forum.
      Cheers,
