Req: Suggestions for an MP3 Player on the Cheapish

I went and perused the mighty audiophile suggestions at hydrogen audio, and people seemed to be enthused about the newer Ipods, and the Rio Karma (with Ogg support). I've looked at the Neuros 128 meg flash player (with Ogg) and it seemed nice but expensive at $150.

Is there a decent flash player out there that's got at least 128 megs capacity, can store computer data (for those moments when you're desperate to get something off someone's computer but there's no burner around), and can play high-bit recorder lame MP3 files? I'm not looking to archive my music collection: I just want decent tunes for the bus and jogging. All suggestions are very much appreciated.

Hi, I recently bought Mrs Devianz a nice 128mb mp3 player. It's the Mpio FL100, she uses it going to work and stuff. It has a SD slot so it can be expanded up to 384mb. It also has a built in radio if you get bored of your own tunes or its fiilled with data. I got it for about £120 form amazon.
I can't seem to sell the idea that i must have an ipod to her yet!!

I hear Apple are releasing an Ipod which can hold from 200-400 songs; not as expensive either. Not sure if it's what you are after, but it could be useful.

Don't know how decent it is, but the LEXAR 128Mb Flash + MP3 player is cheaper than EBUYER's own brand.

Main thing to watch - those teeny little things may have an expensive appetite for watch batteries!

plays normal cds and mp3 cds has a line out with phono connectors to connect to an AUX input

sure its not fantastic and you can prolly buy better for MORE MONEY ....but hey it plays MP3 cds perfectly

Limits for this would be you would still have to have some sort of CD case for disks but one disk can hold 6 or 7 albums no problem or depending on compression used upto 200 tracks or more


But hey for £20 what do you expect



one point i will make here RE I-POD'S the battery life aint that great about 6-8 months fairly regular usage and there is a lot of talk about on the net that to replace the battery they can charge you upto £100-£130 to replace it so if it was to be an I-POD as a choice check into these facts first
