      Question Ipod Audio Players

      Hi all,

I understand the IPOD player is now widely available in the US but here in the UK it's generally a mail-order item available through some of the bigger outlets.

I am looking to purchase one of these and would welcome comments on their versatility or otherwise. I own 1000s of cd albums etc and gather its a way of storing literally 1000s of cd tracks/albums on a portable player with the usual mod-cons and features.

I've read some good reviews but would like to hear comments from owners......are they as good as their reviews or are there flaws??

      Cheers

I've had a 20 Gig 2nd Gen player for almost a year now that I'm quite happy with. No problems to report, just plays and plays.

3rd Gen is newer, is slightly redesigned (new controls, is a little smaller, has a docking station), and has some extra features (on-the-fly playlists is the only major one though ). But the battery life is 20-25% less time. Also it uses its own proprietary plug now (instead of standard Firewire plug as before), but adapters are becoming available.

I use mine all the time at home, in the car (better than a CD changer IMHO), and at work. One of it's best features is that besides being an mp3 player it's also a large capacity Hard Drive. I can drag and drop large files (Gigs) quite easily between work and home.
