      Question A few probs - advice req !

      I dunno what the hell I've done, or installed to create the problems, but a) the windows task manager will not stay open, opens for less than a second then closes. b) Device manager is not showing either via My Computer or Control Panel - what I'm getting is "Console root" whatever the hell that is. Need assistance BAD !

      Question problem

      try to use system restore to roll back to a better state befor this happened then take note of what changed then you will know what may have caused this: just a thought

      Got the bas***d !!! It was the W32 Yaha virus ! Used the "fixyaha" tool from Symantec, now all is (reasonably) well.

      Nevermind... you got it right bud. Pretty nasty virus eh?! Damned thing wont let you open your windows task manager to shut it down. Tricky, tricky!

      Use a good AV solution in the first place. Just the fact that you have been infected tells that your AV sucks..
