      Hard drive help

Well this is what i did
      C: Seagate 80Gb Primary
      D: Seagate 17.2 GB Slave

My backup drive Seagate 17.2 GB i made primary and set it active for just a second. This i did coz my 80GB primary was getting recognised as 2GB so by mistake i did the above. Now i have put this drive in back in my Pc and i cant access the drive. It tells me to format it. I tried doing a defrag whcih at my amazement let me see the file structure(the stuff i had backed up) but defrag had not finised coz it gave me errors. Now i can see the files and folders levels as far as 3 levels but on others i cant and some bare files which i could access were the TxT files whcih i caould copy somewhere else. Now the drive tells me its 14.4 Gb occupied which is right, but on all other files whcih are over a MB it does not let me copy it. Have I los tall other data or is there a way to recover. I would really Be in oyur debt if you guys can help me out.

      thanks

This changed the MBR partition table in the HD, what you need is to restore to the old one, try using Partition Magic.

First install partition magic, then enter the program and select thedisk in question and in tools menu select "check for errors" this should work.

I did try that but it did not find any errors could be the fact that m 17.2Gb is getting recognised as 1 Gb . Does anyone know why that is?

Have you tryied Ontrack EZ Recovery? it can´t restore the partition but it can help you to rescue the files so you can ove them to another drive.
