      joystick to usb

I have 2 sidewinder joysticks, one is the pad, the other is a control stick (it came with mechwarrior 2, if that helps). Both joysticks have to be connected to a sound card, through the joystick port.

Since I only have one joystick port, I can only use one joystick at a time. I was wondering, if there is any way that I can convert the joystick ports to usb, so i can connect more than one at a time?

OR If that is not possible.

I have been thinking about getting a new sidewinder usb joypad since they are only around $20, and keeping my control stick becuase the new ones are too expensive. QUestion is, can i have one joystick connected to the usb port, and the other connected to the sound card, and have both recognized.

The point of this question, is that I am getting very tired of having to get to the back of my computer whenever I want to use a different joystick.

By the way, I dual boot WinXP and WIn98se. I would need the dual joysticks for WinXP only

Can't help much on this 1.......but I have a Creative Cobra 2 usb gamepad and a usb ThrustMaster TopGun Fox 2 joystick......both are recognised as seperate devices....
About your gamepad's output connection, maybe there are port to usb converters,a sort of fiche that you can plug on the output connection of your pad or joystick for connecting it to a usb port......I know that such kind of stuff exist for other devices.....

Thanks for the info about being able to have more than one USB joystick recognized, at least that is not an issue anymore.

As for the converter, I just found out that some of the newer joysticks come with them. This means that they do exist.

I did a quick search, and they seem to be about $20, which is way to much money to spend. Does anybody know of a place that has them for less (I'm thinking under $10, total)
