      Windows 98 lost usb ports

My borther tried to install Hp deskjet 825 usb the wrong way (inserting usb cable before installing the drivers) and now i can't find the usb ports under device manager although the ports are enabled in the bios. Any ideas?

Try using the find new hardware wizard to see if the OS will find the ports. If not,use the wizard to install the drivers manually from the drivers disk(if you haven't tried this already).Oh... don't forget to add drivers for the device being connected to the USB port. Hope that helps.
