I have just brought a new motherboard that has raid sockets on which only supports hard drives,if i connect both my hdd to them can i then have 2 cd roms and 1 dvd rom on the normal set up,or am i going about it the wrong way,any help would be gratefully received.![]()

Or, don't want to confuse the issue but......?
you could buy a cheap(ish) SCSI card and the have the benefits of SCSI hard drive and/or CD drives.
Doesn't help though if you have already have the IDE gear.
I that is the case then an added PCI IDE card would be the way to go.
If U use your raid for Fixed drives U can put 2 IDE CD/DVD Roms or writers on each IDE connection as masters & slaves (a total of 4)
I would advise that if U put a CDRW on dont have it on the same IDE cable as the the CDROM u copy from (especially if U are copying on the fly)
