Thumbs up new NINTENDO CONSOLE due for release 2004

according to BLOOMBERG news site /various other sites NINTENDO are due to release a NEW console next year !? ...

source various information from various sites etc

New Nintendo console revealed and named!

      Chinese move spawns new hardware.

Nintendo Japan has announced a new home console specifically designed for use in the piracy-riddled county of China.

Carrying the name iQue Player, Nintendo is hoping to tap into the increasingly lucrative market, beating both Sony and Microsoft to the punch.

The machine will sell for around £40 and will come complete with Flash game card that is specific to the console. The card can be taken to shops whereupon one or two games are downloaded onto it. Players then go home and upload the content to the iQue.

?We believe that the encryption for the iQue and the iQue card will mean that the integrity of Nintendo?s intellectual properties will be preserved,? said the Kyoto-based firm in a statement.

Each game downloaded at retail will be fingerprinted and registered with Nintendo. Only the game card supplied with the individual iQue will operate successfully, removing the risk of using generic or swappable media.

Nintendo also announced the first games for the iQue, stating that it is underway with Chinese language versions of several Super Mario Bros games.

?We have targeted people in developed countries such as Japan, the US and Europe with sophisticated machines,? said Nintendo president Satoru Iwata. ?To reach a wide range of people in China, especially those inland who are not as rich as those in coastal areas, we thought we needed to deliver a cheaper console.?

Iwata went on to say that the iQue will be able to make use of existing software from all machines predating the GameCube, mentioning the Nintendo 64 by name, hinting that iQue will be based around the 64, perhaps using a 64DD variant.

Unfortunatly it dont seem to great as its basically an N64(NINTENDO 64) console ....shrunk into a remarkably similar to DREAMCAST PAD crossed with the X-BOX pad and looks like a erm rival to the ATARI contoller 10 in one game type system that you can buy from your local gadget type store!?

Also LOOK out for the amazingly named (where do they think of these great names anyhow !? ) GBA 2 a second generation version of the GBA /GBA-SP !?? most probs to compete with the new sony up and comming SONY handheld the PSP (not. .Paint Shop Pro lol )

First image of the brand new iQUE .....

Yeah, it looks ideal for a retro gamer

There's no doubt that there's something pretty impressive about the Nano technology that they're using in this console/handheld.

Count on Lik-sang to have it up and ready for export as soon as it's released. They're the best!

Tell me that this is just a handheld and is not the
N5 console that they were talking about.

this is basically an NINTENDO 64 in a controller with flash memory style stick cards for games loading , so its the techno rebirth of a dated console !?

The iQue is like a n64 controller put it hooks directly onto TV so its like having the whole N64 in your hands. You can play N64 and SNES roms and custimized games.
