      now a junk parked site

Official SystrayPlay (STP) site - though rather out of date

foobar2000 Foobar 2000 is another "thin" player - though the plugins available extend the features - decode quality is supposed to be VERY good, but the user interface is spartan.

I must admit, I usually play either using Media Player, or Freeamp/Zinf.
The main weakness of Freeamp/Zinf, is the decoder is not the best, and can actually be crashed by extremely tweaked LAME MP3's (several times, as I tinkered with getting low bitrates).

Tried it, and it's not bad at all.
Still, bad habbits are difgicult to change... I also had some objections about Foobar, I'm still faithful to Winamp 2.X (Win32) and XMMS (Linux) which do pretty much everything, whitout being hoggers.

The revolution cannot be a lever, or an essay, or tablaeu, or embroidery. It cannot proceed mellowly, piece-by-piece, gently, devoutly, simply and humbly.
