      Red face Downloading problem

I have been checking the cdrsoft.cc for over a year and never had any problem downloading anything, and right after I installed the ZoneAlarm v3 (around over 2 months) I can't be able to download anything (since ZoneAlarm v3 beta to official released).

This is the error I am getting for months from same browser.

Your browser didn´t send ANY HTTP referer !
Please check if your firewall and webwasher is disabled
and any other application that could kill the HTTP Referer ...

Just disable your firewall and try again

Hi bud...ZA 3 is very buggy.I am using the 2.6 ZA Pro version. No probs! I can download fine from the main site.

You can only download from the main site if the servers can see your referrer details. If "Stealth Browsing" is switched on you won't get to the files.

I use Sygate and just turn off Stealth when using this site. Works a treat then

I never had any problem when I was using ZoneAlarm v2.6 and earlier either, but cdrsoft.cc doesn't like v3.0 for some reason.

I will check to see if ZoneAlarm v3.0 has any Stealth or similar or not, this version is pretty new with newer options and I don't really know what it has yet. I also don't have any problem with all other sites except this one. I have tried both IE v6 and Opera v6 with no luck.

I changed Stealth to LOW (turn off firewall) and still get the same error.

ZA 3 is a piece of crap Luuve. Sorry to be so blunt about it.
A few of us (including myself very extensively) have tested it for a bit & have found many odd bugs & problems. I changed mine to Sygate for now, but Kerio Personal Firewall looks very good also.
I would suggest you try one of those instead or go back to ZA prior v3 (which runs fine on one of my other systems (v2.6x). It doesn't just have a problem with this site (v3), but many other sites I know of & it's a super memory hog! Eventually the vsmon.exe (virtual machine it uses) will crash/collapse & your system will start to get really sluggish 'cause it is taking up all of your virtual memory & CPU power.
      Well, hope that helps.
      Good luck.

Kerio Personal Firewall is highly recommended. It's what Zone Alarm used to be: free and good.

I have used Zonealarm, Sygate, and now Kerio. Kerio is just as good (arguably better), but it takes about 2mb of system memory on average. This is FAR less than both ZA 3 and Sygate 5.

      Get it here: h**p://w*w.kerio.com/parser/mainpage.php?id=204&lg=1

Thanks folks! I just downloaded the Kerio and will give it a try. Although, there must be something going on at cdrsoft.cc which ZoneAlarm knows when others don't.

OK! I just installed Kerio Personal Firewall and tried a small file from main board and it works great. And so far Kerio seems to work fine too. I also have hardware firewall from router so don't worry much, just an extra protection to worryfree.

      Thanks all for the help.

I'm currently using the Agnitum Outpost Pro Firewall! Well, I think that's the one!

      There are two versions:
A free one (I think it's ****) and a Pro version (which costs money).
There's a 30-days-trial of the Pro Version (if you need a crack, leave a message or look here ht*p.//www.cracks.am/).

Here you can find more information about it:
      ht*p://www.agnitum.com/

The CHIP magazine has just tested software firewall. But read more about that here:

Thanks for the information about OutPost Pro. and I may give it a try see how it works. I don't have much problem finding the stuff I need, but just don't have much time to test them all to know which is the best choice.

So far, the Kerio Personal Firewall runs pretty stable on my system (so does the ZoneAlarm except it doesn't like cdrsoft.cc) and I kinda like the ZoneAlarm v3.x with option to handle the popup ads (I don't mind few small ads but some sends me to **** pages and they popup like crazy, can't be able to close them).

Just downloaded and installed the current latest version of Outpost Pro and will see if it's any better than Kerio or not, if not then I would rather keep the Kerio because it's FREE for personal use (even I already found the Key for Outpost).

I tried Outpost and go back to Kerio Personal Firewall because Outpost doesn't seem to like my system much as it kills the Winsock (internet connection) rather quick, and I go back to Kerio because it's pretty simple to use and very stable on my system.
