problems registering with xp

a friend of mine is trying to register on dvdrbase but he is having probs (not sure if its software) hense why i posted here.he goes thru reg process only to get to the final bit and this.............."went to follow the link to activate account and all getting page cannot be displayed."................
hes using xp with sygate 5.5 pro firewall microsoft firewall disabled.... sp2 is fully installed. apparently this is the only site that does this
please help

Did he (mis)tune his Windows before?
some "tuning/privacy tools" disabling needed services or unregistering needed DLLs; so you can't go through the registering process;

oh, seems i missed the subject, tought it would be "registering XP";
