Problems on the Sacrificial Board - could it happen here?

given the problems that SACS have had in recent times with software developers (see below), it might be prudent for this forum to follow in the footsteps of SACS and not permit browsing of the boards by unregistered parties

I offer this to you for information and discussion

      Tylor

"As some of you may be aware Sacrificial has been the centre of
attention for a group of software developers (large and smal) over the last few days. Due to this the server owning company, whos machine that we live on suspended our account while they sought legal advice.

It transpires that some of the "new visitors" to Sacrificial believe
that we share illegal software. This is obviously incorrect as the only sharing that is undertaken here is information and assistance between any and all viewers of The Sacrificial Community.

There are of course private conversations that are undertaken by
registered members that we have no control over and by their very
nature private. We do not have the ability to know what is said in a private conversation but do ask that the below mentioned points are remembered.

To clarify our position and to ensure the longevity of this community I ask that no sharing of anything is undertaken in public except free speech, advice, general chatter or correctly licenced software (such as software licenced under the GPL, as shareware etc)

If you are ever offered software, from within this community or
elsewhere, please remember that depending on what country you are in, what licence the software is released under and the lawyers interpretation of law you "may" be breaking the law. Please keep this in mind and do not share any software that could put yourself or this community in a position of breaking laws.

To this end and to assist in the end of needless spam postings from some members of the software development world who feel wronged, there are some forums within the Sacrificial community that you now do not get access to until you are registered. Registration is open to all (including software developers) and so there is no less chance of you being able to become a member of this community, you are just less able to do it without logging in.

Thank you for your cooperation. Apologies for having to add another rule. But in this as everything else, you have to evolve to survive."

Yes, maybe we have to add something like this as well !
There are companies who are not happy about the
stuff we do here and expecially they are not happy about
the things are going on at the main site ...
      so ..

Right now, we don´t have any problem of that kind,
but problems may apear pretty fast and unforeseen
Life plays with us, like the wind with the leaf
Success: It is not the position you stand, but the direction in which you look.
