DVD Drive thinks DVDS are Blank

I have a "Generic" DVD drive which has worked fine till yesterday - it will now
only read original DVD's any copy DVD that I insert it thinks they are blank. Upto this date it read just about anything.

Any ideas would be a great help.

check the ide cable and the power connector that they are firmly in place if possible try a different cable ..this will eliminate the basic stuff then you can try stuff like a dvd cleaner or other solutions
