No. jasmin I like you but when it comes to this DVD stuff I take ChickeMan's word as the best.
So take a guess as to which he owns.
In case you missed he's post.
Do they ever give plextor a bad review?
They only gave 3500 a 8, whats that?

      Good luck with your plextor.
Maybe they can give you a good finance rate.

Well I finally got my NEC 3520A OEM burner and have burned 2 movies so far and tested them out.

I first dumped my bin with Binflash GUI 1.14 as my original (came with 1.04 already installed)
and after much reading I decided to flash my NEC to:
      NECND352_v322.zip --- I-O Data 3.22 with DL-9 support (rebadged to NEC 3520)

      I immediately burned 2 movies @ 8X onto RITEKG05 media

The avg. burn speed was @ 5.5x <--- no idea why?
They both took a little over 10 minutes to complete.
I used DVDInfoPro 3.55 to verify my burns.
I tested both medias for CRC read errors and both read great and all green blocks with no hesitation
I then tried both media's on my stubborn Sony DVD player and they both played flawlessly...(fast forward, reverse, skip forward, backward, etc...)
Both were burned with CopyToDVD 3.0.46.79 again @ Max setting.
I'll be playing with this burner a little more when time permits and will let you know more.

      Regards,

      Regards,
      Good luck with your burner.
I've been reading a lot lately that say RITEK DVD Media has become hit and miss, so maybe its just the quality of your media for the 5.5x.
But thats just a guess cause I haven't used much RITEK 8x media.
I know I tried RITEK R03 one or two and my 3500 could only burn @ 8x. I'm sorry to say I didn't watch them burn so I couldn't tell you the speed that they actually burned at.
