      Pioneer 105 crashing

I've had this drive for some time now and just lately it's been mis-behaving. When doing dvd backups using DVD Decrypter it tends to crash around 66%. Using Nero, it would complete the burn 100% but then I would get the message "Could not perform end of disc-at-once"

      The firmware is 1.33
      Datawrite classic 2x DVDR
      Hi Spec PC
      Nero 5.5.1042

I'm also fortunate to have a Pioneer 106 and use the same media with good results.

Could my poor old 105 be on it's last legs? Or are there settings I could tweak somewhere?

      Cheers

Wouldnt Use that media at all could be your problem <> the 106 can handle em but your 105 may not

My Advice is Always use Ritek die DVDR then its NOT the media (except in extreme cases) but as U surmise it could indeed be the burner.

Might welll be the media- USE RITEK, they are quite affordable and quite reliable as well.

Thanx for the info guys Nero also reports illegal media, so I'm hoping a switch of media will do the trick. I will certainly try the ritek.
Any particular name of disc? Or do I just look for 'Ritek' You do have to remember I am a blonde, but lovely all the same
I'm located in the UK....could you recommend a site?
