      Pioneer 106, Please insert blank disc

      Hi everyone

      Please can you help? I've just bought a new pc with a pioneer 106 dvdr/w installed, along with a sony dvd rom.

      I want to transfer data from my old pc to the new one by using a cdr/w.

      The pioneer 106 will read the data and it will also play dvd's, but when I try to erase the cdr/w it doesn't happen.

      I'm trying to use Roxio easy CD Creator 6, I've also got clonedvd install but can't find an erase function on that.

      Also if I put a blank cdr/w in the pioneer dvd drive it won't let me record a music cd either

      I'm using Windows Xp and have read on other threads on this site that something called Xp imapi, which is in sevices, must be uninstalled but I can't find where "services" is.

      I'd be very gratefull if anybody could help me

      Thanks Daral

      Hi Daral, Welcome to our forum!

      here you can find a helpful posting by Scarecrow about disabling IMAPI: http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.p...1796&p=180578;

      Any other packet writing software (like InCD or DirectCD) installed?

      another problematic feature is "Hide Media" in CloneCD or Alcohol 120%; if you have one of both installed, then disable "Hide Media";

      And sorry, if you try the search button you will surely realize most forum members here aren't Roxio Easy CD Creator fan club members;
      a recommendable DVD burning software would be RecordNow Max 4.5 or Nero 5.5.10.54;

      I also have the Pioneer 106 + WinXP installed.
      Here is a list of burning apps which i have installed with no conflicts or coasters yet !!

      RecordNow Max 5.1
      DiskJuggler 4.1 Pro
      Alcohol 120% 1.4.7
      Burnatonce 0.99b
      Instant Copy 8
      DVDDecrypter
      Wavelab 4

      I have the IMAPI service on manual and i havent got any conflicts.
      If you still have probs, maybe you could try some of the apps listed and see how you go.
      Regards,

      spider
