      Question Liteon or Pioneer??

Can't decide whether to get a Liteon 411S or Pioneer 106. On spec, it seems that the Liteon is slighty better with 40xCDR. But on many forums, Pioneer 106 is the preferred choice with its media compatibility. Any advices, owners? Thanx.

I too would go with the 106, no complaints about mine or my A05 come to that.

Media compat is very good with these drives.

I can't speak of the Pioneer drive because I don't have one but the Lite-On is also a good drive. I've had mine about 2 weeks now and it has preformed flawlessly. I really like this drive alot.

I would go for the Pioneer 106 as the Liteon has got to be the worst drive in existence. 2 weeks & 3 firmwares and the drive cannot perform any way like my trusty 104 which I foolishly off loaded. As me old mum used to say "If it ain't broke........"

If I knew then what I know now I would not buy the Liteon

Ditto, I've had my LDW-411s for a month and have given it a serious caning without a hiccup. I have DVD XCopy Platinum and this is working fine but I kick myself for buying it because I get just as good a copy and much more control using DVD Decrypter/DVD Shrink and ImgTool. They're all free.

Hi there, I was wondering wot media u where using to burn without a hiccup, + or - R, and wot brand.
I have the LDW411s & use NERO 6, and i can only burn +R/RW discs, evey -R disc completes burn, but then wont play back on PC or DVD player.
      HELP !!!!!!
