      Region Free Firmware For Pioneer Dvr106d

      Anybody knows any firmware to make my drv106d region free..i only have another opportunity to change the region

      look on www.rpc1.com or org or something, they have hacked firmwares there !

      I dont believe there is one yet, but I dont think it will be long. Just dont change region on the 106 yet and keep checking the URL that hajj posted.

      Remember, if it says DOS, you boot from a DOS floppy - don't use a DOS session in Windows.

      If it says disable DMA - DO IT!

      In general, you DO NOT want anything in the drive - unless it specifically tells you otherwise, remove any disc that is in the drive before flashing.

      And make sure you hit the right drive - of all the embarrassing errors that can be made, flashing the wrong drive is about the worst.

      And finally, don't turn off or interrupt until it tells you - and don't start if the power is a bit iffy, if there are thunderstorms in the area which may cause a power failure.

      I flashed my 106D with this firmware from Windows XP SP1 with no problems. Can now once again burn cheap media at 2x as I could with my 105.
      Plus Ça Change, Plus C'est La Même Chose.

      Windows XP SP2
      AMD 64 3000+ CPU
      1GB DDR 400 PC3200
      Pioneer 106D // Yamaha F1
      ATI Radeon 9500
      Dazzle PCI-DVCII Capture Card
      FIC K8-800T / Antec Sonata Silent Case
      (2)Maxtor 120gb, IBM 120gb, 80gb, 60gb Maxtors
      (2)Seagate 200gb SATA drives on VIA SATA
