Hi,
Just wandering if anyone has one of these drives?
LDW-401S is the model number.. its a + media drive and does 4 x r and rw.
Might buy one if they are any good...
Thanks..
Lutz
Well, had a look at some reviews... only drawback is the single format.. DVD+R/rw I'd hate to be stuck with the equivalent of a beta video player.... maybe I should consider a +- compatable drive?
Cheers..
Lutz
Sounds like a good schememaybe I should consider a +- compatable drive![]()

+- is the current trend, and IMO the only viable one.

Well!, its now been confirmed that the LDW-401S uses a dual format chip and that there will be a firmware upgrade(probably unofficial) that will unlock the - support. Fyi![]()

I was wondering if anyone knew if a hacked firmware had been released or info on how to make it a dual writer??
The reason I ask is I can get one for £90 and with the release of the official dual format writer been released by Liteon will anyone bother with LDW-401S
Nothing is available to the public yet.
But one of the guys over at cdfreaks has flashed his 401s to -R.
