      And they seem to have ALL the well known options for 4x +/-

      NEC ND1300A
      Pioneer 106
      Sony DW-U10A (OEM of DRU500A, and there is information around on reflashing to the retail version)

      A friend just went for a plus - looks to be the stronger of the two.

      If you expect mostly to be using MINUS, I'd favour the Pioneer, since they started (the 105) as MINUS (some say its PLUS capability is a compromise)
      NEC started (with the 1100) as PLUS.

      The Sony is probably the best regarded of the three, as an all-rounder.

      I looked at the Pioneer and the Sony...but decided to go with the Plextor PX-504A DVD +R/RW and sure I made the right choice...of both the Format and the Writer

      jroc: NEC ND1100A is the same burner as the Plextor, and costs 60+ bucks less...

      The Pioneer 106 has just plummeted in price to £138.00 !!! (+P&P)

      SVP are a very reliable company, have had no problems with them, ordered my 106 @ 11.00 on Thursday and would have had it Friday PM if the driver had been able to find my house !
