pioneer 105 and 4x red datawrite media

does the 105 work with 4x red datawrite media with any of the firmwares available ?

i have just ordered the 105 not a105 for £121 inc all charges and my bro has a 25 pack of datawrite 4x, which he gets for about 75p each, do they work ? do they write at 4x ?

anyone know if the hacked firmware of 1.33b is out yet ? cos ive just downloaded the 1.30 hacked and would like the 1.33 hacked!

if someone could e-mail me saying whether or not they work i would be very grateful.

      re your queries
U got a good burner I have one but have not tried the datawrites U have But all the 4 speed media I have used have burned @ 4x (average speed of 4.1)
I use the 130 hacked firmware there is no 133 yet so leave it as it is.

PS We dont use emails to answer posts <> other members may have the same queries! <> so we post in open forum

stick around & do a search for your burner there are many Threads/posts to read to get U clued in.

works fine for me. Got the exact same setup and has worked for every dvd player ive put my backups in. Gonna try PS2 backups soon, but the DVD worked fine on an unchipped PS2 so I dont expect problems

4x RED DATAWRITE media DOES, i repeat DOES work, ive got my drive now, used the original 1.30 firmware that the drive came as, have flashed to the 1.33 hacked, and will try it with this version soon, should work, fingers crossed.

anyway i'm happy, ive got a great fast drive with great firmware that allows me to use good quality cheap media.

How do the Datawrite Reds 4x go with PS2. The site where I'm looking at buying them from says they work fine but..... well you know. Anyone tried them with PS2 let me know how they go. Also if anyone has tried them with GTA3 ot GTA Vice city could you give me some feed back.

      datawrite experience

I bought about 100 red datawrite (princo) DVD's , and I had to throw about 25 pieces into the garbage can, because they were not readable any more on any other DVD-ROM reader. I experienced that for Burning movie dvd's the problems were not so dramatical as the one with writing data dvd's. So I use the rest of my Datawrite DVD stock to burn only movies. For storage of Data I us Princo's 4x, which do not cause any problems at all. My Formware is level 1.3. I burn the DVD's using Nero, which always end with a succesfull burned message.
