Ok I did some searching on the net, heres my list , these guys know what there talking about, (The folks in here.)

Ok the top writer is the

Sony DRU500

This second posistion has two holders

Pioneer105 and Phillips , Pioneer being a tad ahead

then Cendyne & Shecom

Reason PS2's like the - media from what Ive seen and read
1-3 has a very hard time reading the + and the other models has to but not as much. but the newest model I think it posted the 7000 is ok with the + .

Heres what Ive found on price in the cheapest so far

The Sony $324

The pioneer $176 bare

The others there a little cheaper than the bare Pioneer.

What I havent found is my? about the HP I have in layaway

I know its a + but will it also write -? Oh its not a VI its a XI.

AFAIK, none of the HP's do DVD-R.

Its all opinion yer pays yer money yer takes yer choice

the pioneer 105 is for me Number Uno because of price <> its selling for as little as £125 because it will soon/if not already be defunct
the 106 is coming & if the 105 is anything to go by it will be a cracker

That said if U can afford & are willing to pay for it the sony is indeed a top burner many satisfied customers on this forum
