Well if money is no object..get an original Sony...
Otherwise I would buy the NEC drive out of your list above..
PS: the LG supports DVD-RAM also where as the other don't....

Hi all!
Time for my first post in the forum.
I have followed the threads about DVD +/- r/rw hardware but I hope you can help me out a bit about what to get.
The available drives in Sweden that support both +r and –r are:
SONY DRU-510A $540
NEC ND-1300 $320
LG GMA-4040B $300
Any info on the LG?

Well , I hate to barge someone elses thread. But lets say I wanta spend around 250 max. what do you recomend? Oh yea
Toshiba (SUCKS) Ive got one as far as basic cdrw its great but not for backing up movies or games IT SUCKS.
But any ways I really am curious about this. I have a HP300VI in layaway at walmarts not in no hurry, still have a lot of reading to do. local this is about all you can find, as far as a dvd rw goes.but
I may order and cancell my layaway. Thanks drifter
@driftonin spending 250 Max your better to buy on the net in most cases..You can pick up a NEC ND-1300A from 150 to 250 which I feel is a very good price and a fine drive to own.
Do a search on the web... dvd burners or dvd writers.
Tanx You!
