      DVR-105 v1.30 - 2x4All FirmWare Help.

I just received and installed my DVR-105 yesterday and downloaded the DVR-105 v1.30 - 2x4All FirmWare. In the read me it says "Make sure you don't have Intel Application Accelerator installed". I have this installed on my pc. Before I flash this drive I'd like to know what probs it may cause and is there a way to uninstall it. Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

Hi Blane!Just use the uninstall option in Add/remove programs. Can't remember if there is an uninstall menu from Start>programs,or not.The intel accelerator may cause problems when accessing the drive during flashing.Dma is supposed to be disabled too.You can reinstall the prog after flashing, then enable dma again.

These are just precautions, but worth the extra trouble.Congrats on a nice burner.

      @ Blane,

Suggest flashing in DOS to negate any problems. If flashing in DOS no need to disable the Intel Application Accelerator.

If unaware how to flash in DOS follow procedures outlined in “Pioneer DVR-A05 & DVR-105 Flashing Guide/FAQ”

Thanx guys for the help. There's no uninstall option in Add/remove programs or in my addremove4 good prog for the Intel Application Accelerator. Thought about flashing in DOS and figured it would be too much of a hassle. I'm running xp pro with no updates. So I decided to boot into safe mode and run the flash from there. It worked without a problem. Used nero info tool to check the firmware and it's in there. Just to test it I ripped The Mummy movie files only to the HD with dvddecrypter. (4.9gigs) Did the same yesterday and the read rate didn't get over (2.2). After the firmware upgrade---Average Read Rate: 8,531 KB/s (6.3x) - Maximum Read Rate: 11,136 KB/s (8.2x)---Operation Successfully Completed! - Duration: 00:09:35. My congrats to the guy who hacked the firmware and thanx again to you guys for the help.
