      Thumbs up Pionner Japan introduces the Pioneer DVR-A06-J!

      Pioneer Japan, has announced today that it will introduce a new ATAPI DVD/CD, the DVR-A06-J, in Japan, in June of this year. The new drive will support writing of both DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW discs. The supported writing speed for the DVD-R and DVD+R format is 4x, while writing at DVD-RW can be obtained at 2x and the DVD+RW at 2.4x.
      The worldwide market for recordable DVD drives for personal computers (DVD writers) is expanding at a tremendous rate. According to Pioneer research, about 70% of the DVD writers shipped up until the end of 2002 supported the DVD-R/RW format. By offering reliable performance and versatile functions, Pioneer has earned the trust and appreciation of customers, making Pioneer the recognized company for supplying recordable DVD devices. Furthermore, Microsoft Corporation has announced that its next-generation Windows will support the DVD-R/RW format as the standard

      Interesting in that they will now be suporting both DVD-R and DVD+R.

      Also interesting in the comment that Microsoft will the DVD-R format as standard, when 6 months ago they said they wouldbe supporting DVD+R as standard. Microsoft, where do you want to be today ?

      lmao good one chickenman i don't think even BILL knows that answer with the imminent release of LONGHORN O.S. due to be unleashed on us anytime now i dont even think he can decide on what O.S. standards we should use nevermind dvd formats lol ?! more headaches and upgrades to get things to work !?

      Could it be they actually looked at the sales figures for DVD+R drives and realised?
