WHICH DVDWRITER TO BUY? *help plz*

hi guys

i am wanting to buy a DVDwriter for my pc and need help in deciding which one to buy from UK. I dont really have a budget - just want to buy the best one . I am interested in copying dvd's etc etc and want to know is it is possible to copy a full dvd movie, and what implications are there? etc etc.

i have a pentuim 4 2hz processor. i am right in saying that it usually take hours to copy one dvd to dvd. ? is there anything else i need to know?

Most of the people here have either the Pioneer A05/105 or the Sony Dru.Both are good drives and as your in the UK you can get the 105 for about 150 quid now while the Sony is still above 200.On encoding if using CCE or similar to encode your dvds it will take a few hours yes but there are a few new programs around which do it alot quicker.Look here for some of them.

No complaints from my Sony DRU-500a either- just one: I became poorer by 400$.

Yep, Pioneer 105 is now only £145.99 at www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/ right now. A Sony is still very hard to come by and almost twice the price if you do spot one.

i just want to know if the sony and the pioneer dvd recorders will let me record from any region dvd's? i am not bothered if it doeasnt play because i do have a multiregionable dvd drive which i want to keep in my pc.

Yep the 106/A06 should be available soon m8.They will let you record from any region dvds m8.
