Does Best-Buy Easy Home '03 let upgrade the firmware?

Hi, I've a Phipilps DVD but I've bought this cheap DVD palyer to see jpg photos and mp3 (my old Philips cn't do this) and now I realize that VCDs (1246, 128) don't play properly. The sound plays a little late than the video. I wonder if exists a firmware upgrade to fix this issue. I've been searching in the web but there's nothing. The Best-Buy webpage is the wrost.
And by the way. There's any code to make it region free?

If you can provide a make,and model # we might be able to help you better. Do these vcd's play properly on other devices?

Yes, in my DVD philips 701 these VCD plays properly. I don't know who's the real maker of this DVD, I only know that the trademark is Best Buy and the model is Easy Home '03 That's all I can see in the (short) manual.

Could only find one player close to your description.If the manual states it will play cdr's then I would return it,if still possible.There are cheap players on the market that will play almost anything you throw at them.

Thanks for the info Woody. But my model is a little defferent, for example my model is almost the same but mine includes 2 mic inputs for karaoke. If exists a firmware for the model that you found and I update the firmware of mine maybe I lost this karaoke function.
In the other hand I think there isn't any firmware update for Best Buy Easy Home DVD players

Nope,I couldn't find any more info.Sounds like a new player,or rebadged one(most likely rebadged).The link I provided allows you to choose features,and search for a comparable player,BTW.Best Buy should have a good return policy.I think updates will be slow,or nonexistant for that unit.
