Finally broke down and purchased the Sony DRU-500 (couldn’t wait any longer for the Lite-On DVD±R/RW).
On the outside of the box is says DRU-500AX but Device Manager Properties states Sony DVD RW DRU-500A firmware 2.0c. Information from the sticker label on the drive - Manufacture Date 07 March 2003; Model No. DRU-500AX; Version BA.
I would have thought Device Manager would state DRU-500AX. What version of the Sony DRU-500 do I actually have?
Are there any advantages in upgrading the firmware from 2.0c to 2.0e ?
